In 2004, I agree to write a booklet for teens entitled "What Catholic Teens Should Know About Being Pregnant and Panicked." The ms was accepted and i was paid. The day i deposited the check, our teen-aged daughter came home and told us she was pregnant. We have a nine month old grandson today.
Last week, i agreed to write a booklet for adults entitled "Someone I Know Has Lost Hope." I should have known i'd be wrestling with hope. Sometimes God is NOT subtle.
The universe does not like to see too much happiness nor too much hope in one place.
